To earn certification, a used Toyota must pass a rigorous 160-point quality assurance inspection. Toyota factory-trained technicians check the vehicle’s history, engine, and drivetrain. They also inspect the brakes, suspension, safety systems, and interior and exterior condition. Any part that doesn’t meet standard is reconditioned or replaced with genuine parts. A CARFAX Vehicle History Report is reviewed as part of the process.
Toyota certifies used vehicles at two levels. Gold Certified is the top tier for newer, lower-mileage vehicles. Silver Certified extends factory-backed protection to older, higher-mileage vehicles at a more accessible price. Coverage under both tiers is transferable at no cost if you later sell the vehicle.
