What Engine and Hybrid Powertrain Does the 2027 Toyota Sequoia Use?
The 2027 Sequoia continues with the i-FORCE MAX hybrid as its only powertrain — there is no non-hybrid option and no upcharge to get it. A 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 pairs with an electric motor-generator mounted between the engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission, a layout that lets electric torque arrive without waiting on turbo boost.

Is the i-FORCE MAX a Plug-In Hybrid?
No. The Sequoia is a parallel hybrid with no charge port. The high-voltage battery recharges automatically during normal driving, using both the gasoline engine and regenerative braking.

Built on the SR5 grade, the Trailhunter package is the most accessible way into a factory-built off-road Sequoia.
